The Human resources Department of the Howard-SuamicoSchool District provides direction, coordination, and support in the areas of personnel, recruitment, and hiring processes for all schools and departments in the District; it is the primary resource for all personnel matters.”

Mission Statement - Human Resources Department

In recognition that the employees of the Howard-Suamico School District are the most important resource we have for providing a quality education program for the students and in order to assure quality human resources, it is the mission of the Human Resources Department to accomplish the following:

  • Recruit and select the very best available candidates for all open positions within the District;
  • Allocate/assign human resources in a manner which results in the greatest contribution to the instructional program while remaining aware of the economic parameters of the District;
  • To provide an environment which optimizes staff performance and satisfaction;
  • To promote and cultivate a collaborative employer/employee relationships that result in healthy and positive employer/employee relations;
  • To support building principals and department and program leaders in their daily operations and, in particular, those operations that involve the application of Human Resources processes and procedures;
  • To serve as the Board of Education and Superintendent's liaison to the various labor unions representing the District's employees;
  • To provide quality substitutes for instructional and support staff, as needed.
The staff of the Human Resources Department is committed to providing assistance to current employees and to individuals seeking employment in matters relating to the employment process or their employment status.

If there is a posting, this means we are accepting applications.  If not, it means that our substitute list is closed at this time.  All applicants must apply online only and already possess a Department of Public Instruction, Sub-Teacher license, and/or 5 year renewable teaching license to be considered.  Applicants lacking these permits or licenses will not be considered.   DPI Short Term Substitute Permits will not be accepted.
